St. Peter’s Radio Gala Performance

St. Peter’s Radio Gala Performance

To conclude Term 3, St. Peter’s Primary put on our 2022 school concert, Radio Gala. It was an entertaining production, with each grade assigned a song from a different decade, ranging from Elvis for the 50s all the way to Sia for the 2010s. Our Performing Arts Teacher, Mrs. Stacey Herden was wonderful throughout the whole terms preparation and it is thanks to her leadership we are able to celebrate it’s success. It was a concert where each child was able to shine and the school captain’s introduction and thank you speeches captured the concerts success so well. Below is their final speech from our last Assembly of Term 3, as well as some concert reflections from our prep students.

Captains Speech
– Charli Steward and Austen Jiang

The performance has been such a great experience for everyone at St Peters. It brought our whole school together and you could see smiles on our faces both on and off stage. Being in a performance has helped us to develop our confidence and our creativity, which shone through in our dancing, singing and acting.

This performance was nerve-racking for a lot of people since many of us aren’t used to performing, but as soon as we went on stage no one could stop smiling. Some students’ highlights were going into the wings to get ready for their performance, watching the grade before them shine on stage, dancing on the big stage under the lights and hearing the parents clapping along. We also enjoyed walking on stage at the end of the performance to see all the parents’ smiling faces looking down at us, clapping our hard work.

We thank all the teachers and LSO’s for putting in their time to help. Every teacher has made a difference whether they made props, helped direct, helped behind the scenes or even just rehersed with their grade to get ready for this awesome day, you are the best!! Without your help this performance wouldn’t have happened. St Peters staff are an amazing team and every second you put in means the world to us!

We would also like to give a special thank you to the AMAZING Ms Herden who put in her blood, sweat and tears to create a memorable performance. Two years ago she had a wonderful idea for the whole school to participate in this performance and, after delays with Covid, we finally got to perform in 2022!

Last, we also want to extend a big thank you to all our parents for supporting us on the night. You’re support means so much to all of us and we loved performing for you.

Prep Reflections

On Monday I was excited to dance on the stage. When it was our turn, I was excited when the curtain was opening. We were dancing to Jail House Rock. When the curtains were closing, we hopped off the stage. I coloured a picture and when the concert was finished my mum and dad came to pick me up. It was brilliant I hope that the concert will come again! Sofia PrepAH

On Monday I felt excited when the crowd was clapping for me. I was happy because my family saw me. I loved when I saw my brother. Jamie PrepAH

On Monday night we had a school concert. I felt excited to dance. I felt nervous back stage. I loved it when the crowd cheered. Joseph PrepAH
