‘What would it be like to walk in their shoes?’
This is a thought many of us have had in recent times, and one that was explored by our Grade 5 students during their discovery unit. During this unit, the students considered different types of leadership and how various styles can impact citizens. This lead them to question, how we can make a difference in our democratic country. During their unit, they also considered refugees and what it could be like for those who live under different leadership. Once they had gained all this new knowledge, not only did they raise money for the Ukrainian Appeal but they also raised awareness for all refugees. The students did this by walking around the oval with heavy backpacks to really experience the question ‘ What would it be like to walk in their shoes?’
